Hits to the Head, Not Only Concussions, Cause CTE

The Washington Post recently published an article with information on new understanding of what causes CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy). What is CTE? It's a brain degenerative disease believed to be caused by repeated hits to the head. It has many unfortunate symptoms that are still being studied, but include memory loss, impulse control problems, anxiety, depression and several more. Educating and taking steps to protect from this condition is an important part of safe play in sports.
